I
first came across yoga and Vanessa a few years ago at a local gym.
I joined the class with a bit of apprehension, but loved Vanessa and
her way of teaching right from the start. I am also a health practitioner
and having seen how much yoga has benefitted my own health, I have
encouraged many of my patients to join Vanessa' s classes. Every single
one of them has reported how much they enjoy her classes and how much
they like her. She is without a doubt a wonderful teacher.

I
highly recommend this yoga class. Vanessa is incredibly professional,
makes it very easy for a beginner to take part. Her way of talking
through each and every movement is incredible - making Wednesday evenings
a weekly highlight.

When
I first started yoga I was a little apprehensive of all the bending
and stretching and saw it purely as a physical thing. Vanessa's classes
go way beyond that and from the time I started yoga I've started to
look at my whole life in a more "whole body" way. She's
a wonderful teacher and her yoga classes are incredibly beneficial
to your whole life.

I
find your approach to yoga a very progressive one. Focus is always
given to the individual's needs. The lack of preoccupation with "prowess"
doesn't necessarily translate to lassitude, but encourages a more
fluid approach, and an awareness of the day-to-day demands that will
invariably affect one's practice. I also thoroughly enjoy how each
lesson brings something different from the last. My body and I are,
as a result, always interested and stimulated.

Vanessa
Varela is probably the finest Yoga teacher I have had the pleasure
of meeting in my 12 years of practising yoga. Her classes perfectly
combine the balance between physical and spiritual, and I am honoured
to be able to know her as a human being as well as a teacher. Namaste!

I have been doing yoga with Vanessa for the last three years and it
has been a remarkable three years of growth for me. I have done yoga
with a number of teachers, but have never found the complete balance
that Vanessa brings to the classes. Vanessa combines all facets of
yoga - the extremely physical, the meditative, the spiritual - and
her instruction encourages focus into the detail of every posture
which encourages one to become deeply aware of what is happening in
one's body and in one's mind. I come away from every class feeling
challenged, but also deeply relaxed. Vanessa seems to intuit the mood
of the class and adjust the class to the needs of each participant
- a skill which is really unique and an ability which makes every
class a memorable and rewarding experience.

"Pete has been learning yoga under Vanessa's guidance for the last five years and recently qualified as a yoga teacher at the Sivananda Yoga Vendanta Dhanwantari Ashram in India. He teaches in the Sivananda tradition of yoga which is based on a fixed sequence of twelve postures which place a great emphasis on pranayama (breath work). He believes that yoga is a beautiful path to relieving and overcoming the physical and mental stresses of our daily lives. His classes are ideally suited to the older beginner, but all new comers to yoga will find them stimulating and rewarding.
